I have many nightmares which are always the same. They are a playback of my parents' deaths which I saw when a young teenager. Thankfully they don't haunt me so much now, but still lurk. But I never seem to remember the happy ones, though wake feeling happy.
I have tried pre-sleep therapy using a sound box and aromatherapy. I never go to sleep in darkness. Always there is a dimmed bedside light on should I wake up distressed. My partner is used to it, always comforting me. I wish we could be in a happy dream, holding hands and waking up at the same time. If only dreams could happen like this.
