Do you find it easy to make new friends or do you find it difficult?

sometimes it's easy, but alot of times i find that i need to step out of my comfort zone to make friends. my best friend is a very shy person. if i hadn't pushed myself, we wouldn't be best friends.

I find it easy to talk to people, but making friends takes a lot longer. It takes me quite a long time to trust someone before I can call them friends. But, that's just the way of the World nowadays.

For me it depends on the person and the atmosphere I am in, I am a shy person who finds it hard to really get into a good conversation with people, when I was younger it was so easy but then I think school helped with that, now it's when I go out I get the chance to meet new people and get to know them and I can find it hard. I have a friend now whom I really shyed away from when I met him, he gave me the confidence to talk to him and I am glad I did as we are still friends now and as much as we don't talk as much we always know that it is really easy to go back and start where we left off now, if I had of let my confidence and shyness get in the way we wouldn't be good friends now.

I've had friends who I found out I could not trust or who weren't there for me when I needed them even though I would always be available if a friend needed help, so this has made me very wary about starting new friendships. As I'm now older I tend to just cut people out of my life if they let me down as I don't want to invest further time in them. I know I'm less forgiving now than when I was younger and this is an area I need to work on, age is making me cynical and less inclined to tolerate people's BS.
